Medical records are an integral part of client communication and patient care. According to the AVMA PLIT, the leading cause of malpractice claims in veterinary medicine is miscommunication. Poor and incomplete documentation and client communication leads to the perception of poor patient care.
The goal of this course is help you improve your veterinary medical record keeping strategies and highlight pitfalls while you become proficient in communicating with clients. Your improved efficiency at creating a legally defensible medical record, compliance with state, federal, and association rules and regulations, and stronger client relationships will result in better continuity of care and treatment of the patient.
